Scott Collinson
Coming from a family of music lovers Scott first began clarinet lessons at age 10 through the Wembley Primary School music program. Following this he won a scholarship to continue his study at Churchlands Senior High School as a member of the specialist music program. During this time Scott also developed a keen interest in the saxophone as a member of the high school Jazz Ensemble and commenced private lessons.
In 2009 Scott began a Bachelor of Classical Performance on clarinet at the University of Western Australia, then transferred to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2010 to complete his degree. In 2012 he also began a Bachelor of Performance on saxophone at UWA. Completing his Bachelor of Performance on Clarinet in 2013, Scott enrolled in the Honours program at WAAPA majoring in woodwind multi-instrumental performance. During this time Scott also took up the flute as part of the honours course. In 2015 Scott plans to complete his Bachelor of Music Performance on saxophone at UWA and commence Masters in double reeds (oboe and bassoon) at WAAPA. Following this Scott has aspirations to complete the jazz course at WAAPA as a multi-instrumentalist and then to go on to further study in the United States. |
